 It was first mentioned in the 14th century as a settlement in the Ratno wedge of the Chelm region. In the 16th century, it was part of the Ratno starosty, which belonged to the royal domain of Poland. At that time, the village was inhabited by kmetes (servants of the Ratno castle). In 1546, in the description of the borders of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Crown of Poland, Radostow in the Ratno district is mentioned as part of the Chelm region, Crown of Poland. At the end of the 16th century, the village belonged to the Orthodox Church. In 1600, it received the status of a settlement. In 1737, the church of Radostow is mentioned.
