<p>The parish of Detkowicze was founded and the wooden church was built in 1740 by the landowner Pavel Bukhovetsky, a clerk of the Brest voivodeship. The church was built during the Union period and adapted for Uniate worship.</p>
<p>It is known that the church was repaired in the 1820s.</p>
<p>Detkowicze is mentioned in the “List of Christian Catholic settlements in 1726”.</p>

<p>Description of the church (folk wooden architecture):</p>
<blockquote>
Consists of rectangular main and altar log cabins, covered with a common roof with triangular overhangs... The two-tiered belfry-gate is located separately on the axis of the church.

<p>In the 1840s, during the conversion to an Orthodox church, the interior was changed.</p>

<p>In 1884, priest Konstantin Zhukovich began major renovation works. The church was rebuilt according to the project of engineer A. Remer. The consecration took place on October 22, 1888.</p>
<p>During the II Rzeczpospolita (1919–1939) the church was active and marked on maps.</p>

<p>Today the Holy Protection Church is a monument of folk wooden architecture. It consists of two rectangular log cabins with a common gable roof, an octagonal turret with an onion dome, and a separate two-tiered belfry-gate.</p>
