<p>The village of Zalawie is marked on the one-verst map from the beginning of 1870 and later:</p>

<p>It is also worth noting that it was a sparsely populated settlement, possibly a folwark. Near it there is a tract of land called Zalawie.</p>

<p>Since 15 January 1949 in Drohiczyn district. Since 1954 in Brest region. In 1960 it was listed as a hamlet in Drohiczyn district, Popina village council, there were 113 inhabitants, in 1970 – 54 inhabitants, in 1995 – 3 yards and 3 inhabitants.</p>
